Photos by Barb

These are some shots taken by Barb tonight (that would be Fun Barb to my friends). Barb will be graduating next week from the digital media class at COTC. I kept her boys for a while today and when she got home we were heading out for some ice cream. These are just some of the nice shots of my kids she captured.

Friday night on the town

It's Friday night and part of my family spent it cheering on the Mohican's in Pony League action at Lake Park. Nela, Von and I had chicken nuggets, french fries and chocolate chip cookies from McD's for supper. The chocolate chips in the cookies are really ooooooooeeeeeyyyyy gooooeeeeyyy good!

This was part of a cookie with most of the chips eaten from it and I was shocked she got this messy.

See the cookie tote behind Von.

Ann and some of the kids were at the game. Javanna was anti-social with us for most of the game as she sat at a different area with her friends.

but Tanishe stayed near

Saquore had some misses ...
and hits...
and hits ...
and hits...
and he pitched an inning

Visit with Uncle Omari, Aunt Kay and Baby Angel

Memorial Day was spent visiting friends and family in Columbus for Kujo, me and the kids. We enjoyed a couple hours visiting with Kujo's brother, Omari, his wife, Kay, and their beautiful new baby girl, Angel. She was born Wednesday. I can't wait to get my hands on my new sweet niece. She was sleeping the whole time and I didn't snatch her up. I'm going to be an Aunt again next week when my sister has her baby. She's scheduled to be induced Tuesday morning. Everyone is hoping for a boy, I wouldn't mind another niece.

Sorry Kay, but I thought this was too cute of the three of you.
Here's Omari with his Nela.
It was a beautiful day outside. I took Von and Nela on a couple walks and the guys visited outside as well.

Here's Angel. There weren't too many different shots since she was pretty much like this for the two hours we were there. She has a perfect name because she looks just like an angel.

The kids were so happy to get to see Klein ... I'm still not sure why. Brayden brought a bag full of Game Boys that he got from his cousin and Klein and Brayden played them all day. I donno, I guess if that's what brings them joy.

Look what we found at the Farmer's Market

Our Farmer's Market is just fantastic this year. It's early in the season which means not too much produce, but I enjoy going when I can. This past Saturday we stumbled across a live chicken. Brayden was brave and held it.

Von liked looking at it until Brayden got close to him for a group photo. He's more of a duck boy than chicken.

Memorial Day parade view

Kujo and I had our Memorial Day planned out since it's rare that we both have a day off together. We hadn't been to see his family in Columbus for a while so we planned to get up and go Monday with the kids. While I was fixing breakfast, Von yells "Fire truck mommy." Well, at times he calls all emergency vehicles (EMS, police, fire, etc) a fire truck, so I figured it was the ambulance picking up the woman across the street.

A minute later, he yells "fire truck, mommy" and I looked out the window and sure enough there was a fire truck ... and an ambulance ... and REACT ... then another fire truck. I looked out the windows to see if there was a fire or wreck and couldn't see anything. I walked down to where the poeple were leasurely sitting and discovered they were lining up for the parade.

I completely forgot about the parade taking place. Luckily, the kids got to watch REACT, the EMS, two fire trucks and a police wagon pass by our front window. They were so excited to get to see a parade ... from our dining room window!

He likes ducks .... and ponies!

For those of you who really know Von, you know he hates dogs ... well, most animals we should say. After a recent visit to his dad's he said "I hate dogs, but I like ducks." It's the funniest thing to hear him say. But at this weekends RibFest he wanted to ride the ponies so bad. I was for sure it would be $3 wasted on his screaming and running out of the place, but he just whimpered when he got in there that he wanted Brayden to come too. Brayden was a good big brother and went for a ride, and Von absolutely loved it. I told him he was my little cowboy!

The ponies were under a tent which made the pictures really dark, but Von is smiling ear to ear in this shot.

The kids were so good at the festival. The four of us spent about two hours. While the kids played in the bounce houses I chatted with some old friends. We skipped the ribs and at hot dogs and french fries (and I enjoyed some fried green tomatoes), but we took ribs home for Kujo who was working a double shift.

Nela got (shoved) into the bounce house by herself, but she didn't like it. She didn't like it even more when I sent Von in to try to get her to roll around.

Here's Von coming out of one of the bounce houses.

Baseball recap

Brayden had a game tonight and he did pretty good. He had a hit but got out. He had a couple good plays from center field as well.

Here's the team giving high fives at the end of the game.

Last week they had a scrimmage and here he is running after his hit.

This is a teammate ... I loved the facial expression in this shot.

This weekend we bought Brayden his first baseball bat so we had some practice time at home and with Grandpa and Uncle Brad on Sunday.

It was fun seeing Dad getting involved.

Scrimmage and picture day

It was picture day for Peebles this week. I took some of my own, as did many of the other mothers.

I was going to get my own shot after they were done setting up the team but I got busted.

Here's Ann fixing Brayden's pants.

Waiting to go to bat
Made it on first
Game over
