Funny faces

Nela was in bed and the boys decided to have a little funny face photo session

and Brayden tried out some new wrestling moves.

This is Saturday morning before Brayden's baseball game. Von wore a Tribune hat which was his verson of a Diego animal rescue hat.

Nope, it's not the beach. Von is burying Diego in the fine rocks at Union Schools ball fields.

Nela enjoyed some suckers...
and bonded with a few friends.

Rainy day at the ball game

They were just two guys under an umbrealla. Kujo and Dad joined me in the rain to watch Brayden play at Conesville.
Here's the hit.

The other pictures of him catching wouldn't load for some reason. He did a really good job at catching for the first time.

Catch up shots

These are some shots from last week and tonight. Most of you know I have been somewhat ill this past weekend. In short, Friday my fingers on both hands felt like they were asleep all day. I also had a pain in my neck so I figured I pinched a nerve or something. That night I decided if it wasn't better over the weekend I'd call my doctor. Throughout the night, I'm swelling all over, all my joints ache like crazy and it feels like my hands are going to pop off because of the pressure ... so I go to the ER.

I get a strep test, EKG and about 5 tubes of blood taken. No strep, heart is fine and only thing wrong in blood work was elevated levels for inflamation. I'm told to take motrin. After two days of motrin popping every four hours, lots of pain and sleep deprivation later I get into my doctor. This is what I think he told me, I could be way off, but it's what I'm telling everyone. He looks over my tests from the hospital and notices while I tested negative for strep, my cultures showed I have some other thing going on that's rare. The doctor said he read about it but never seen it. Whatever it is it causes my symptoms.

A few doses after penicillin and steriods I'm feeling much better and I'm down to three fingers of sleepy feeling. I'm not going to complain too much because it's better than feeling like you're hands are going to pop off. OUCH.

Now I just have to go back to the doctor for a two week check up and get blood work done again.

So, because I was down a couple days, I needed to catch up on pre-injury and tonights photos.

Enjoy:

Jacey's post

Here's my niece, Jacey Kay, at 3 weeks old.

Not much you can do at this age.

But the face changes a little. I love the wrinkles in her forehead in this one.

Sister Hanna joins a shot.

And Von .. um.. smiles

Hanna joins again

and again.

Catching up .. play ball

OK, you can't get a shot like this with a little digital camera unless you excuse your way in front of a nice old man and stick your camera lens through the fence. I know what it looks like, safe or out ... nope. It was a foul ball and he got sent back to third.

Here's a recap of the action.... Brayden hits the ball at his third time up to bat and makes it to first.
Here he comes for his real run home .. darn kid was in the way.

Here's Ben Batchelor hitting a foul ball that almost hit Brayden .. I think he has it out for him or something.

Last week this was Brayden's last bat and he got a hit ...

Made it to first. Next player struck out so he kicked dirt back to the dug out.

Back to tonight, coach gives them a pep talk and good sportsmanship reminder as they only needed a run to actually win a game.

Here's Brayden waiting to go to bat.

Swim time

It was a little cool Tuesday night, but Brayden went to visit his dad, Bruce, for a few hours, and I wanted to do something special with Nela. So we went outside and I put her in the swing. While I was out there, I decided to fill up the pool for the next evening.

The water was surprisingly not freezing out of the spicket so I put Nela's feet in.

Before you knew it we took the shirt off and she was splashing around for a few minutes. By the looks of the pool, we're going to need to upgrade. I couldn't get the darn thing to stay up.

Here's Nela in the swing.

Fun at Ann's

Monday night we went out to Ann's house after work. The kids were playing baseball in the yard. Ann brought out a bag of little cookies for Nela and she decided to share.

She was really happy to have the whole bag.

She shared with several people, although I didn't want any by the looks of her face. EWE!

Welcome back computer

Here we go, about two weeks worth of photos in one post. My computer caught a virus and it had to go to the doctor. She's up to speed now. Here's Geralyn's son, Hunter, in the wagon with common faces Hanna, Nela and Von.
They had a lot of fun.
Next year we'll get Jacey in there too.

Here's Von blowing bubbles at the Tribune's Friday Friday booth. I told you it's been a while.
Here's Von doing sidewalk art with chalk.

and the candy toss game with Aunt Josie
Sidewalk art again with aunt Josie. They actually won last year with their creation.

This was a toss game, but Von just stuck them in.

Here's Miss Jacey Kay. Isn't she beautiful!

Here's the kids in front of the train at First Fridays.
