Glasses for Brayden

I was a bit behind but I took Brayden to the eye doctor for the first time last month. They said his vision close up was good, but far away was not so good. So ... he got glasses.

I am so proud at how responsible he's been with them. He takes them off at gym class or when he's being rough (OK, at least he tells me he does), and at bedtime they always go in the case. This weekend may be the exception. He had a sleep over with Ann, James and the kids and his case was in the car.

This is kind of a goofy photo but he really looks cute in the glasses. He reminds me of my nephew Derek when he was little with glasses.

For parents of young ones, keep this in mind because you don't hear it too often, but kids should go to the eye doctor before school. I can't believe he's 7 and just now went. He's been going to the dentist since he was a year old.

Okay, Andrew's Kindergarten teacher was the one that suggested to me that Andrew was blind as a bat at age 6 and he was. He actually ended up with a medical condition in both eyes. Then, Gracie went at 16 months and has worn glasses ever since, her's aren't as bad as Andrew, but she goes cross eyed without them on, so she sleeps in them! Yes, I agree, kids are so cute in glasses, Andrew has contacts now, but I still love a kid in glasses! Tell Brayden he looks so smart, like his mom!
